What a year! On to 2008

Well, It has been an amazing year for all of us. Sterling had his first Birthday, is first steps, his first words after his first steps, "ouch". As a matter of fact everyday is a new first for him! As for Mom and I, everyday is another 1061, 1062 diaper changes;another hundred or so kisses to ow-eehs and another year of excitement watching him grow up!
I am recently back from a 10 week shoot about oregon loggers for History channel. Which was great for the career, I think my hard days on the Mountain paled in comparison to Sharon's battles with the recently running "Sterling The Wild". Her great spirit and instinctual mom skills prevailed, and as soon as I walked in from the woods, she came to me with her arms outstretched....not for a hug mind you, but for the quick hand off of the baby as she ran away cackling with crazy eyes.
She came back a few days later. Much more sane looking.
The holidays have gone well, with the standard spoiling of a well deserving 15 month old.
I do wake up from sound hallucinations of the ringing and honking and laughing of Sterlings multiple gadgets..."open...closed...hello....goodbye...red triangle...."
Sharon and I realized we were old the other day, Hers-not being ID'd to buy wine. Mine-Someone calling me Grandpa...I dont even have any grey hair...must have been the bags from the 20 hour days for 10 weeks.
Enjoy some new Pics!! Happy 2008

Birthday, and new pics!
Well, Sterling had his 1st Birthday a few weeks back. I think for Sterling it was an exercise in dealing with multiple stimuli. Let me give an example from Sterlings point of view:
Wow there are a lot of people here...Wait, I know them....But they're ALL here at once, oh my god...OK, here we go (Deep Breath) hi grandma, hi grandma, oh wait another one, Hi grandma, and granpa and Pop and that funny guy with the spiky hair, and o theres Auntie Zoo Zee and Cousin Z, theres Lola, and theres another granpa here!! Wait dont stick that in my mouth, its sweet but, BUT WHY DID YOU DO THAT GRANDPA!!!!!(Throws the Cake)
Really it's an important skill to possess, especially with the Holidays coming up! Speaking of skills Sterling is starting to stand on his own and take a step or 2 but hasn't quite given up crawling, it's safer and faster you know. Well enjoy some pictures hope to see all of you during the holidays.

11 Months, can it be possible?
It has been 20 months since we started this adventure, wow! 11 months since he was born, double wow!! Sterling is becoming a little adventure of his own, he is crawling now and just beginning to push himself up onto his legs, soon he will be walking! He gives me a smile everyday and makes me feel warm even on the hardest of days. Here are some pictures since you last saw him.

Almost June...9 months, WHAT?!?!

Its true little sterling is 9 months old next week and he is not so little, everyone talks about how time flies, but I just witnessed it by scrolling down the blog and my goodness it's true! He is starting to become a little troublemaker and not even walking yet. He likes to eat and has 2 bottom teeth and one top one currently and can make an excellent mess of his food...on both ends. He can push his walker against the coffee table and then with 2 sweeps of his arms everything is gone. And apparently its hilarious! Not quite crawling yet although I think he will be by the end of June and will probably be saying his first words soon also. He is starting to catch on to sign language, so, soon he can tell us if he is sleepy, hungry or poopy which hopefully will alleviate some of the not knowing what the problem is scenarios. Enjoy some pictures

Its been awhile....

Well, it has been an exciting few months with the new addition. Sterling is starting to hold his head up real well, and he is goo-gooing away. He loves to grab really hard onto Oli and "pet" him, I am sure Oli would call it something else, but he loves the little guy too, wagging his tail and licking his milk mouth, and fingers. Clarence on the other hand just realized Sterling existed when he jumped into Sharon's lap and Sterling was attached to the milk truck. His eyes lit up like"what the hell is that!!" Sterling loves his momma and papa showering us with smiles and giggles everyday when he wakes up. He is also very lucky that he gets to spend time with Grandpa and Gramma Moberly 2 or 3 days a week, depending on how busy Daddy gets. Here are some new, old pictures of him being his smiley self. Enjoy!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, May I Present...Sterling Rowland!!!
Sterling arrived yesterday, September 7th 2006 at 8:08am!! Our day began at about 11:00pm the 6th when I twisted and turned in bed I said to Sharon "I think Sterling is coming tonight" at about 2am. After I finally slept for 45 minutes Sharon woke me up with contractions. I started timing her at 3am and they were already 2 minutes apart. We waited for an hour thinking it was false labor. I then called the hospital and they said to take a shower and head in. After I fed Oli and picked a few tomatoes we loaded the car and headed to the hospital. We arrived at about 5:45am and the midwife checked her and admitted her, as now she had opened to 6cm. Sharon labored without pain meds until 8am and she gave one last push. I was allowed to catch Sterling who was much like a slippery fish and flopped him on her belly. It was a wonderful and beautiful thing and Sharon and I are so Happy!! I hope to see you soon when you come and visit our new addition to the family. Enjoy some pics!!

38 weeks, and ready to pop!!!
Hello all. Here is Sharon at the very large stage which I have named the "where's my basketball, oh wait there it is." stage. Like I tell Sharon though, she looks more and more beautiful everyday, after all when have you not seen a beautiful pregnant lady? It's not like you go "oh my god how horrible", when you see a smily happy cutey like her, besides if you did, you probably wouldn't wake up until after a week of sleeping off her large husbands punch. Heres me and Ollie getting some practice in. and last is a sweet pic we snuck of Ollie the other day

33 weeks = oh my goodness!!!

Here's your monthly update. Sharon is tired of being pregnant and Sterling has been working on his field goal kicking. It is definitely odd to see such a little guy move mamas tummy back and forth so much...you can actually see him pushing and trying to make room. Soon he will be out and we can start working on his sword strikes, kickball homers and Shakespeare. He seems to like it, I've been reading A Midsummer Nights Dream and he really likes my falsetto voice I use for the female parts. So far he has been introduced to some music and is probably used to Ollie's bark by now. I am keeping my finger's crossed for a cooler August for poor sharon's sake, but the Farmers Almanac seems to think otherwise. Here's a picture of mama.
